Blessedness

Lesson 18 | Blessedness

The Sermon on the Mount is the most influential speech in human history with no close second. Multiple times in this single speech Jesus dropped a bomb shell that altered religious thought. Each week we will look at one of those revolutionary statements that literally changed the course of history. First up (week of Feb 16), how does Jesus define what it means to be blessed?

Core Verse | Matthew 5:11-12

Matthew 5:11-12 English Standard Version (ESV)
11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 5:11-12 New International Version (NIV)
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
